Widower Father Earns Diploma

After being laid off from his job, Viranchith Rajapho (Mr. Tobey) moved to South Louisiana in June 2016. Mr Tobey, a widower and father of a twelve-year-old daughter, began Goodwill Industries of Acadiana's HiSET preparation course. Mr. Tobey was devoted and hard-working. He would arrive early to class to help the instructors set up the classroom. In September 2016, Mr. Tobey began the testing process. He passed Math, Social Studies, and Reading but fell short in Science and Writing. In October 2016, he passed Science but still struggled with running out of time during the Writing portion. Mr. Tobey persisted. He practiced writing at a quicker speed to adhere to the time constraints of the test. In January 2017, Mr. Tobey passed Writing and graduated with his HiSET diploma. Mr. Tobey couldn't have done it without the support of our donors and shoppers. Congrats Mr. Tobey, and good luck in your future!
