More Than Money: 3 Ways You Can Support Goodwill Acadiana

There are so many ways to give back to your community without spending a dime! At Goodwill Acadiana, we will show you three easy ways to support our mission and strengthen our community!
1. Donate
The most common way to give back is to donate your gently used items to Goodwill Acadiana. This does more for us than you realize! We fund our services with the money we make from our stores by selling the donations YOU drop off! It's a whole chain reaction that many people don't know about! You are second handedly helping your neighbors gain their adult education or acquire affordable housing just by dropping off your items to one of our donation centers.
Every bag you drop off stays local. It helps fund job training, adult education, employment services, crisis assistance, and affordable housing for your neighbors. So, when you donate, you're not just clearing out a closet - you're investing in your own community.
2. Hosting A Donation Trailer Event
Another way to strengthen your community with Goodwill Acadiana is to host a donation trailer event. Whether you schedule our trailer for your neighborhood, workplace, school, or community events, we will take all the help we can get! The next time you or your organization is planning a donation drive, let our trailer carry the load. It's a small ask on your end, but for someone in Acadiana, it could mean the difference between another hard week and a real second chance. To schedule an appointment, head to our website and reserve the trailer for whatever day and location works for you!
We'll take almost anything, including clothing, accessories, furniture, household items, appliances, sports equipment, used vehicles, etc. You can see the full list here.
3. Share Our Stories
The easiest way to support Goodwill Acadiana is to simply share our stories. Goodwill Acadiana works to reduce poverty, restore independence, and transform lives all across Acadiana, but a lot of your neighbors have never heard about it. They don't know about the services we offer, the people behind them, or the real stories of people who've turned their lives around right here in our community with the help of our services.
This is where you can make a difference. Next time you're scrolling Facebook or catching up with a friend, share what we do. A single post or conversation can connect someone to the help they need. Visit our website or follow us on Facebook to see the stories for yourself and then pass them along!
