Jarrah had her daughter at an early age and stepped back from school to raise her child. She knew she was being called back to school and felt that life was finally stable enough to pursue her diploma.

She heard about our HISET program from friends and passed all tests in 5 weeks, immediately taking a trip to Miami to relax and celebrate!

Jarrah plans to pursue a nursing career through South Louisiana Community College's program, and she's so happy to set a good example for her daughter, who's inspired to follow in her mom's footsteps 💙

Emotional Story: A Determined Man Who Jumped for Joy

🎉 Join us in celebrating Ron, a man who knows he's destined for more!

Ron walked away from school as a teenager to work on an oil rig. For over 20 years, he worked long, hard days, but deep down, he knew something had to change. One day, he heard a radio ad about Goodwill Acadiana’s HiSET program, and he took the leap.

In just three weeks, Ron passed all five tests! When he got his final score, he ran through our doors jumping for joy with shining eyes and an unstoppable smile 💙

He felt like this had been hanging over his head for so long, and now he's finally free to chase life's opportunities!

Ron, your strength lights up every room, and your story is a reminder that it’s never too late. We’re honored to be part of your journey, and we can’t wait to see where you go next.

Emotional Story: "You Can Do This!" And She Did

🎉 Join us in congratulating Nicole - a mother, a mentor, and now a graduate!

Back in high school, Nicole fell in with the wrong crowd, but life gave her a second chance through her son, and she made the most of it. When she enrolled him in University View Academy, she became his teacher, coach, and cheerleader all in one.

Nicole taught herself every subject to help her son thrive - watching YouTube videos, studying his curriculum, and never giving up. Other parents noticed, and one of our team members did too. They saw something powerful in Nicole and told her, "You can do this!" And they were right.

Nicole passed all five HiSET tests in just three weeks WHILE STARTING A NEW JOB! She almost didn’t sign up because she doubted herself, but everyone else believed in her, and now? So does she 💙

Nicole, you are fierce and selfless. We are so proud of you, and we know this is only the beginning of your journey.
