It’s officially Goodwill Week, and we’re inviting YOU to be part of the celebration!🎉

  • What if your old jeans could help someone land their first job?

  • What if that coat collecting dust could help a neighbor gain confidence again?

At Goodwill Acadiana, that’s exactly what happens.

Every year during the first full week of May, local Goodwills across the U.S. and Canada celebrate Goodwill Week to shine a light on the Goodwill mission to transform lives!

When you clean out your closet and donate gently used items, you’re doing more than just decluttering. You’re fueling adult education, job training programs, and career pathways for individuals right here in our community.

💙 Your Stuff Has Power

Each donated item is sorted, priced, and sold at one of our retail locations. The revenue from those sales is then reinvested directly into services like:

  • Adult education

  • Job training and placement assistance

  • Resume-building and career coaching

  • Digital skills programs

  • Support for individuals with disabilities

  • Affordable housing

  • Crisis assistance

🛍️ Why It Matters

Acadiana is full of hardworking people who just need a chance, and your closet could be the spark that lights their way. By simply donating what you no longer wear, you’re giving others the opportunity to work, provide for their families, and regain independence.

✅ How You Can Help This Goodwill Week

  • Clean out your closet and drop off donations at your nearest Goodwill

  • Shop at a local Goodwill store to support the mission

  • Share this blog or tell a friend how easy it is to make a difference

Let’s turn clutter into opportunity and shopping into support.

Together, we’re building a stronger Acadiana - one donation at a time!
