🎉 Join us in celebrating Branded - a man taking back control of his life!
Branded dropped out of middle school because, in his own words, he "was a troublemaker and thought he was being cool," and he didn't care about the consequences back then. He worked a lawn job for around 10 years before he fell on hard times, but that all changed earlier this year.
When Goodwill Acadiana and Catholic Charities of Acadiana collaborated for a HiSET presentation in August, Branded was in the room, and he signed up for our program shortly after.
He passed all tests on his FIRST try in just 2 months, and he'll be crossing the stage next week in South Louisiana Community College's graduation! Now he's interested in joining our Goodwill lawncare crew, or in his words: "I'll take any job you got!" He's also considering furthering his education to study IT, as he has a strong passion for computers and data.
Branded recognized that he made mistakes in his life, like dropping out of school, quitting his longtime job, and losing his house, but he also saw that he could change his life for the better. And that's exactly what he did 💙
